Live Your Relationships as a Spiritual Practice (In-Person, Scottsdale, AZ)

  • 4312 Southeast Stark Street Portland, OR, 97215 United States (map)

Is this you?

You want better communication skills and more fulfilling relationships. You want to create more connection in your personal relationships and have the confidence that you can handle conflict. You want to engage with the people you care about using relationship skills that embody your values.

You are dedicated to living an authentic life with compassion for yourself and others. You understand that creating healthy relationships requires mindfulness and practical skills. You are ready and willing to practice mindfulness and concrete skills in a safe environment that includes vulnerability and self-reflection.

What to expect:

In this weekend workshop, you will engage in conceptual learning, experiential learning, and skills practice. Practice exercises will be done individually, in pairs, and in small groups. You will choose examples from your own life to practice with in the exercises. You can choose to share at the level of vulnerability that supports your learning and transformation.

In our weekend together, you will be introduced to and practice key skills for listening with empathy, asking for what you need, managing reactivity, cultivating resilience, setting life-serving boundaries, and engaging in relationship repair.

I'm so excited to offer this weekend of learning, sharing, and growing together. Relationships as spiritual practice is at the center of this work. I was born to do this work; to explore spiritual evolution within relationships and help lead this world into relationship mastery.

Please join us in exploration and learning about how to live your relationships as a spiritual practice.

What's It All About?

Living your relationships as a spiritual practice means being able to trust yourself to live your values moment-by-moment in the most mundane activities of daily life. It means that in your interactions with family, friends, community, co-workers, and partners you work to stay grounded in living from your deepest values like love, equity, peace, care, and kindness. It also means that you have invested time, energy, and careful attention in cultivating the concrete and practical skills that help you meet relationship challenges in integrity with those values. Mindful Compassionate Dialogue (MCD) offers a way to do this.

It is a system that helps you cultivate and access mindful engagement, agency, compassion, and wisdom. Personal transformation and skillful relating is achieved through practice with the 12 Relationship Competencies and Nine Foundations, which arise from a central, life-serving intention. MCD naturally supports you in creating the relationships you want by integrating the wisdom and skills of three powerful modalities: Hakomi, Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and mindfulness.
